Join us for BB@home, an intimate program held at our South End headquarters showcasing the dancers of Boston Ballet II, Boston Ballet’s second company.
The program opens with a premiere by Boston Ballet Artist Matthew Slattery set to a commissioned score by Andrea Belfiore. The ensemble will also perform a premiere by Boston Ballet II dancer My’Kal Stromile, excerpts from Marius Petipa’s Swan Lake and Harlequinade, and Associate Director of Boston Ballet II Peter Stark’s reconstruction of former Boston Ballet principal dancer and ballet master Sam Kurkjian’s Rachmaninoff Suite. Four of the works will feature live piano accompaniment from Boston Ballet School music staff.
The program will be interspersed with informal talks with Artist Matthew Slattery about his new work and Boston Ballet School Music Department Head Maya Isyanova about the importance of live music.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to engage with our art and artists! Space is limited, so reserve your seats early.
