Join us for a discussion of a different banned book every other month. We will discuss the reasons for each book's challenges or bans, the history of each of the books, and the content of the book itself.


This month's selection is All Boys Aren't Blue by George Johnson. This award winning YA memoir is told through a series of essays that chronicle the author's experiences growing up as a Black queer person, covering topics like gender identity, toxic masculinity, family, and consent. It has been a target of book challenges for years and was the most challenged book of 2024, according to the American Library Association.


Copies of the book will be available to check out at Helpdesk 1.
