Books and Wine Series
"If wine disappeared from human production, I believe there would be, in the health and intellect of the planet, a void, a deficiency far more terrible than all the excesses and deviations for which wine is made responsible. Is it not reasonable to suggest that people that never drink wine, whether naive or doctrinaire, are fools or hypocrites....?" Charles Baudelaire
Join us for a guided wine tasting course led by Boston sommelier Noell Dorsey. Noell will walk you through an array of fine wines inspired by famous gothic and spooky authors from Baudelaire to Shirley Jackson, Edgar Allan Poe to Joyce Carol Oates and more. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions and master the basics of wine tasting while discussing these iconic writers and their contributions to the world at large. Open to all wine levels and literary enthusiasts!
You can choose to take this class at Commonwealth Wine School or Online through Zoom. Tastings are provided as part of the in-person class, or available for pick up at our school if you select the Online with Tasting Kit registration option. For those who choose to register for the online class only, wine lists will be provided ahead of time so that you may taste along at home.
