The ArtBeat Dance Stage returns to Davis Square with six works that span the full range of what dance can do — from joyful reclamation to sharp critique, from lighthearted absurdism to raw emotional excavation. This year’s lineup asks big questions: Who owns a cultural tradition? Who holds power in an art form? What do we perform for others, and what do we hide? And sometimes, the answer is synchronized swimming. Whether you’re a longtime dance devotee or just wandering through on a summer afternoon, there’s something here that will move you — literally and otherwise. All performances are free and open to the public.
