Art in the Barn, Essex County Greenbelt Association’s annual celebration of regional art and land conservation, returns June 12–13. Now in its third decade, this beloved North Shore tradition features a juried selection of works by more than 130 regional artists. Thousands of pieces — ranging from paintings and photography to sculpture, stonework, fine woodworking, ceramics, and more — will be showcased against the scenic backdrop of a breathtaking New England salt marsh.
More than an art exhibition and sale, Art in the Barn supports Greenbelt’s vital mission to permanently protect wildlife habitat, working farms, and scenic landscapes throughout Essex County. Participating artists generously contribute 50 percent or more of their proceeds to advance Greenbelt’s conservation efforts.
The event takes place on Allyn Cox Reservation in Essex, a stunning 31-acre property with open fields and trails along the Great Marsh and the Essex River. A beautiful destination for a day trip to view art, explore a captivating landscape, and help safeguard the irreplaceable landscapes that define Essex County.
