featuring poetry by the radical and talented Julissa Emile:
Julissa (or Juju if you can't pronounce Julissa) is a twenty year old transplant from the United States Virgin Islands. Their writing focuses on the intersections of blackness, queerness, and "if that were a garden, what would grow from it". They have been featured in Teen Vogue, the Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, are currently a member of the House Slam Team, and have plans to release a chapbook in the fall of 2018.

ABOUT THE ALBUM:
"Colors" is an indie pop album that explores the various shades and luminosities of sound. Anjimile's evocative lyricism and honey-smooth vocals shine brightly against an ever-shifting backdrop of spacious soundscapes and dynamic melodies. From the dreamy waters of "Wakanda" to the folk-rock fields of "Green", each track on Colors vibes confidently in the spirit of exploration and experimentation.

"Colors" was written and recorded at Industry Lab, an eclectic co-working space in Cambridge, MA, as the result of a 3-month artist residency. Its sound is heavily inspired by the remarkably inventive group of engineers, entrepreneurs, scientists, graphic designers, programmers, architects and artists that inhabit the space.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Anjimile is a queer and trans songwriter/folk singer/lover boy with a heart of gold. As a first-generation Malawian-American raised in the suburbs of Richardson, Texas, their experiences with racism, homophobia and xenophobia in the deep south and beyond have helped to form the basis of their radical queer politics. The essence of their musical output is a gooey center of warmth and tenderness informed by the power of their intersectional identities
