Amanda Ekery, Caroline Kuhn, and Elise Leavy are playing Club Passim in Cambridge, MA on Saturday, December 9th at 2 PM. Jazz vocalist, pianist and flutist, Amanda Ekery plays a distinctive combination of traditional, contemporary and original music. The native Texan's compositions and arrangements range from greasy blues to introspective ballads. Amanda is an award-winning composer and vocalist, being selected for the 2015 Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Residency, an international competition for young jazz composers and performers. Nationally recognized as an outstanding jazz soloist (2011), Amanda earned the Mark of Excellence National Jazz Honors Outstanding Soloist Award. Most recently, she has released "Some Short Songs"an album of original music exploring the Lydian Chromatic Concept. Elise Leavy is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from northern California, currently attending the New England Conservatory of Music. Caroline Kuhn is a singer-songwriter and New York native. Her influences range from Stevie Wonder to The Punch Brothers. She currently plays her music in two bands: The Ladles and Ruthless Moon.
