In 2016, Boston Globe rock critic Steve Morse selected Ali, along with Lake Street Dive as must-hear artists. The critical praise has been non-stop ever since - evidenced most profoundly December 12 when Ali was the recipient of multiple 2018 Boston Music Awards.
Inspired by the likes of Sarah Vaughan, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Whitney Houston, Ali's songwriting mixes R&B, soul, jazz, folk and pop into a thoughtful array of wonderfully crafted songs which she delivers in an unhurried, soulful singing style. That she has attracted some of the area's most acclaimed musicians to be part of her band is a testament to how talented she is. This is one of those "must-see" shows....
