Let’s enjoy the winter hike at the warmest time of the day! You can have a good sleep, relaxing brunch/lunch, then come to say hello to nature, as well as warm spirited fellow hikers:-).

Although the ice is mostly melted this time of the day, I still require everyone to carry the spikes in bag just in case it’s needed.


This is a route for hikers who enjoy more elevation with several hills up and down. Recent hiking experience on steep, rocky terrain is preferred. We will meet at the entrance of Houghton’s Pond parking lot near playground benches.The hike route will be altered depending on trail conditions.


This hike is not for beginners but at a Moderate strong pace for hikers who enjoy a bit of a challenge.

Microspikes will be needed for wintery conditions, and hiking boots/shoes are required for safety. We prefer the team stay together. If you break away from the group at any point and hike ahead of us, then you are on your own.


Remember to bring energy snacks to keep your endurance up, and carry at least 1 liter of water. I’ll recommend a thermo bottle for winter to prevent from freezing, or with your favorite warm tea/coffee/water.
