Her debut album Puzzle Heart is both playful and heart-wrenching at times - Seven pieces to a compelling love story! It is beautifully depicted with layers of background vocals, strings, percussion and delightful surprises like clarinets and toy xylophones!
Erica's voice has been featured on a number of other albums - some of which, were recorded & mixed by 2-time Grammy award-winning Producer Ben Wisch (Marc Cohn, Jonatha Brooke, Diana Krall). Listen Here.
Erica nearly lost her voice permanently to Thyroid Cancer which spread to her lymph nodes in 2012-2013: Watch the brief Documentary Here.
During the last few years undergoing surgeries, radiation and journeying towards full recovery, Erica has deeply involved herself in the the cause to spread cancer awareness. She's been a guest speaker and performer at her hometown's American Cancer Society Relay for Life, a featured performer in the Hallway Concert Series at MGH Boston's Yawkey Center for Cancer Care & has written songs to uplift and support cancer patients and care givers. Her rally song "Calling All Survivors" is a rebellious anthem that stands up to cancer. It was choreographed for dance and performed alongside Erica and her powerhouse backing band at Cambridge's Oberon Theater in 2013.
These days Erica is embracing the urge to make a new album, writing lyrics that dig down deep into the human experience, and experimenting with new sounds. She was recently accepted onto the exclusive roster of Concerts In Your Home and is eager about giving intimate performances at local venues and house concerts to develop these new songs.
Phil Berman (9pm)
Phil Berman is a singer-songwriter in Cambridge, MA whose warm melodies and toothsome lyrics concoct a unique pop alchemy at the crossroads of Stephen Sondheim, Joni Mitchell, and Benny Goodman. His first record, The Battle of Bunker Hill, transmutes folk to big band with a wink, a nibble, and a quick turn of phrase.
With his honeyed, mercurial voice, Berman creates a musical menagerie of timeless tunes and lush orchestrations hewn from the heart.
