AERONAUT Allston is back!!!
It's our third season of free, outdoor, family-friendly musical beer gardens at Zone 3's hub of activity, 267 Western Ave in Allston.
The series features live music and performance by emerging local artists, the best local food trucks, and great beer! This year AERONAUT will help Zone 3 open its awesome new outdoor community program and performance space. It's an upgrade from the blacktop parking lot of the past two years – but it still feels like home!
AERONAUT Allston takes place every WEDNESDAY (5-9:30pm) and FRIDAY (5-11pm), June 1 to September 28 at Zone 3 (267 Western Ave).
This season will highlight...
--community collaborations!
--exclusive, only-in-Allston beers!
--a rotating lineup of Boston's top food trucks!
--the best of emerging and established Boston-area performers and bands!
Zone 3 is a Harvard-sparked initiative to further activate and energize Western Ave with creative programs, events, and retail. More info: Zone3WesternAve.com

FEATURED MUSICAL ACTS for FRI JUNE 22
Elizabeth Wise Music (7pm)
Born in Lexington, VA in the Shenandoah Valley with the backdrop of the Blue Ridge, Wise grew up with a family full of musicians and music lovers covering bluegrass, Appalachian traditionals, blues, jazz, classical, folk, soul and R&B.
"authentic yet refreshingly original . . . a blueswoman at the dawn of a superb career." -Memphis Blues Society
"Faithfully carrying on the traditions of Elizabeth Cotton and Malvina Reynolds, (with a dose of Bessie Smith, for good measure) Elizabeth Wise is a vital link who connects us to this fast fading golden era, and breathes new life into it. Hailing from Memphis, TN, Elizabeth is a young folk and blues guitarist/singer/songwriter, a fresh face who may have been born 75 years too late." -Kenny White
Ali McGuirk (9pm)
Ali McGuirk has made a career of captivating audiences with her unique blend of hypnotic R&B grooves, folk songwriter lyricism, classic soul delivery, and a gravelly blues temperament. With a focus on lively improvisation, strong instrumentals and her own buttery voice, her earliest years as a performer were spent earning residencies across 4 continents, from Santorini to Hong Kong.
In 2016, she was recognized on the cover of the Boston Globe Sunday Arts section as an "artist to hear," along with Lake Street Dive, Haim and others by the influential Boston rock critic Steve Morse. Shortly thereafter, she released her debut, self-titled EP.
In November 2017, she released her first full-length album, "Slow Burn," which saw her working with an eclectic mix of artists. "Slow Burn" was named as one of Steve Morse's Top Ten Albums of 2017, put Ali in the Boston Herald's list for "Best Music of 2017" and contributed to Ali's Boston Music Award Nomination for 2017's Best New Artist.
"When she opens her mouth, people stop and take notice, captivated by her swooping, honeyed voice."
-Paul Robicheau, The Improper Bostonian
"Slow Burn, the debut album from stirring songstress Ali McGuirk, possesses the kind of intense introspection usually reserved for artists twice her age. The singer dives headfirst into the turbulent waters of heartbreak, longing, and adulthood with cognizance that is wistful yet liberating; raw yet still devastatingly beautiful."
-Candace McDuffie, Vanyaland
"A single listen to 'Slow Burn' reveals that McGuirk’s labor of love is full of rewards. The record ranges from ’70s-style quiet storm to ’90s neo-soul to modern alternative R&B. What’s that mean? If you dig Marvin Gaye or Sade, Norah Jones or Ledisi, you’ll dig 'Slow Burn.'"
-Jed Gotleib, Boston Herald
"Sultry, smooth…its that sound that when it smacks you in the ear canal you just know 'this is it'... this gal’s voice has the ability to stop hearts and send tingling shivers all over your body."
-Brian Carroll, Red Line Roots
"A soul singer who evokes comparisons to Amy Winehouse but rocks even harder."
-Steve Morse, The Boston Globe
