Old-school overhead projectors have never been put to better artistic use than in this award-winning production, which melds shadow puppetry, actors' silhouettes and live music to create a truly unique theatrical experience that blurs the line between stage and screen. The fittingly named Chicago company Manual Cinema created this award-winning piece, and you'll be privy to their backstage artistry as they weave the fantastical tale of Ada, an elderly lighthouse keeper who struggles to adjust to life after the death of her twin, Ava. Dubbed "an unclassifiable story of spectral beauty" by The New York Times -- which made it a Critics' Pick in 2015 -- don't miss Ada/Ava arriving at the Emerson Paramount Center.
