The Brookline Arts Center is pleased to present our national exhibition Activation, on view March 13-April 10, 2020. Join us for the reception Friday, March 20 from 6:00-8:00PM!


Artists have explored the nature of vision and movement in art since the early twentieth century. For this exhibition, we sought works that move or are activated to perform. We looked for kinetic art: art of both real and apparent motion. Works explore the element of time or reflect on the modern world through technology.


Activation was juried by Arlette Kayafas, Director of Gallery Kayafas in Boston. Selected artists include Siddharth Choudhary, Will Freer, Bob Kephart, Lloyd Konneker, Liza Lynch, Liliana Marquez, Filipe Miguel, Lior Neiger, Ponnapa Prakamakul, Alejandro Siña and Phillip Vaughn.
