In this interactive workshop, we will explore the techniques of acting for animation and the casting process for an animated series. Disney TV Animation casts the animated content across three 24-hour networks: Disney Channel, Disney Jr, and Disney XD. As such, we are constantly on the lookout for new and up-and-coming talent. This workshop will give you the inside information on how the process works and how to make your voice stand out as an actor and as a comedian. There will be the potential for actor participation (optional). Please note this is a learning experience only, and should not be considered an audition or guarantee of employment.
Instructor: Julia Pleasants: Casting Director, Disney Television Animation
Julia Pleasants joined Disney Television Animation as a Coordinator and acting Casting Director in 2015. She currently acts as Casting Director on Disney’s DuckTales, Tangled: The Series, and the upcoming series The Owl House. Other past series including Future Worm!, Billy Dilley’s Super Duper Subterranean Summer, and many pilots and shorts.
Prior to working for Disney she worked in the animation, promo, and video game departments at the Atlas Talent, a voiceover talent agency, and as an assistant in development at House 8 Media.
