Abilities Dance is celebrating their mission of increasing inclusion in dance through their second annual performance at Hibernian Hall. The show is called "Next Level" inspired by the major growth the company has undergone since their first show last year. They hope to showcase their compelling choreography and breathtaking musical compositions as they tell powerful stories to inspire and entertain.
Through their pieces, they will take you on a journey of themes universal to the human experience such as romance, religion, communication, and more. The choreographers include Director Ellice Patterson, Paige Fraser, Jamie Ballou, and Lauren Sava. The original music by their director of music Andrew Choe will complement the movements as they tell these powerful stories. All of these stories have the central theme of inclusion as the dancers' varying abilities are highlighted.
For the opening night, June 2nd, they are proud to welcome special guest, Paige Fraser. As a Scoliosis advocate who faced the prospect of surgery at an early age that might have ended her dream of becoming a professional dancer, Paige embraces what she has overcome to raise awareness about pursuing dreams and overcoming challenges. They are ecstatic to have her add even more to the robust performances.
For both performances, June 2nd and 3rd, they are also excited to welcome Louisa Mann. Louisa has extensive experience dancing with integrated dance companies in New York such as Heidi Latsky Dance and Marked Dance Project. We are so excited to have her wow the audiences with her impressive skills.
