Join ABCD – Action for Boston Community Development – as we celebrate 60 years of community action and honor our community heroes — individuals whose exceptional kindness and compassion uplift the underserved! Featuring keynote speaker Secretary of the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Marcia L. Fudge and a special tribute to former ABCD President/CEO John J. Drew who retired in June 2022 after 51 years with ABCD, 13 as its leader. Drew will be inducted into the ABCD Hall of Fame, a rare honor received by such luminaries as Melnea Cass, Sen. Ted Kennedy, Dr. Jean McGuire, and Mel King. WCVB-TV's Karen Holmes Ward is the emcee.
It takes intense heat and extreme pressure to form a diamond, and that’s a fitting metaphor for ABCD and the community heroes we will honor in our 60th year, our diamond jubilee. Our heroes persevered, personifying grace under pressure as they delivered life-changing assistance and empowering initiatives.
