WHAT: Celebration of Massachusetts’ newly-elected Asian American women trailblazers. In the recent elections, the country has made historical wins with a record high of Asian American women and women of color elected at the federal, state, and local level. These winners have diversified the political representation of our government and we are celebrating these historic accomplishments with a luncheon panel featuring the following recently electeds:
~~Tram Nguyen, State Rep - 18th Essex District - first Vietnamese American woman elected to MA state legislature
~~Mehreen N. Butt, Town Councilor - Wakefield - first Muslim American woman elected to MA town council
~~Maria Robinson, State Rep - 6th Middlesex District - first Korean American woman elected to MA state legislature
~~Panel moderated by: Jessica Tang, Boston Teachers Union President - first person of color & member of the LGBTQ community elected as president of BTU
