Join us for the launch of Stephen K. Levine's new book, Philosophy of Expressive Arts Therapy: Poiesis and the Therapeutic Imagination. A celebration of the expressive arts as it is, was, and will be. With performances, readings, discussion and music with Mitchell Kossak, Philip Speiser, Vivien Marcow Speiser, Ellen Levine, Elizabeth McKim, Karen Estrella, Ara Parker and others. Stephen will introduce the book with a short performance from his recent work, It Could Have Been Me!


Stephen K. Levine, Ph.D., REAT, is a philosopher, clown, poet, and a leader in the field of expressive arts therapy. Professor Emeritus at York University (Toronto), Founding Dean of the Doctoral Program in Expressive Arts at The European Graduate School (Switzerland), co-founder of the International Expressive Arts Association (IEATA) and of The Create Institute in Toronto. He has written, co-written and edited many books in the field of Expressive Arts Therapy, including Poiesis: The Language of Psychology and the Speech of the Soul; Foundations of Expressive Arts Therapy: Theoretical and Clinical Perspectives; Principles and Practice of Expressive Arts Therapy: Toward a Therapeutic Aesthetics; Art in Action: Expressive Arts Therapy and Social Change; Trauma, Tragedy and Therapy: The Arts and Human Suffering and Song the Only Victory: Poetry Against War.
