Local Musicians and Dancers Perform for Local and Global Change
Arlington, MA — On July 22, Song Caravan LLC will present a unique, powerful night of song and dance to calm the soul and celebrate the sun as a source of light and hope. The event is titled A Midsummer Jazz Soulstice, and will be held at the Regent Theatre, with performances beginning at 7:30 pm. General admission tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students and seniors (proof of age and school must be provided at the door).
Those attending A Midsummer Jazz Soulstice can expect "a garden of creative composers, musicians, and dance artists in full bloom," according to executive producer Denise "Red" Randall. The event — which will “be recorded so that others can enjoy it” — will feature original works from solo violinist Grey Gafarov, jazz ensembles Vicente Lebron and Friends, the Craig Hlady Group, the Alexei Tsiganov Group, and more. Musical performances will be accompanied by selection from more than a dozen improvisational dancers.
The 2nd Annual event promises magical performances, and moving moments, as the performers have all created their work to convey themes of serenity, hope and light in an otherwise turbulent world, and this years show will honor Alima’s Purse, a Hopkinton boutique which sells handmade goods from around the world and donates 100% of the sales to nonprofits helping some of the most needy people groups, here at home and abroad.
“What Alima’s Purse is achieving moves me. We want to apply our art to their goals and our performers want to offer a show that brings together a caring community at its best,” said Randall. "The artists and myself are passionate about these midsummer shows. We are able to entertain our audience and send love back into the world, leaving a lasting footprint," said Randall.
A Midsummer Jazz Soulstice will be hosted by Jenell 'Jurayeraye' Randall, and tickets can be purchased online in advance, or the night of the show, through the Regent Theatre box office.
