In A Far Cry’s annual Side by Side, the Criers partner with students from Project STEP and New England Conservatory for a performance celebrating the next generation of artists—and the mentors, teachers, families, and friends who help them grow.

This year’s program, Absolute Cinema, explores music’s pivotal role in the stories we tell on screen and beyond, from Toru Takemitsu’s atmospheric Three Film Scores to Harold Arlen’s iconic Somewhere Over the Rainbow. The concert also includes renowned film composer Eric Korngold’s lush Symphonic Serenade and features a world premiere commission by Quinn Mason, specially written for the Criers and Project STEP.
With a special 5:00pm start time, Absolute Cinema welcomes audiences of all ages to join A Far Cry, New England Conservatory, and Project STEP in the concert hall.
