Join us for the 6th Annual Malden Juneteenth Freedom Celebration on Sat Jun 17 2023 at 11:00 AM EDT. The event will take place at the Ferryway School on 150 Cross Street, Malden, MA 02148 to make sure that the rain doesn't dampen our joy.
The theme this year is Black Freedom. Come nourish your soul. And bring your friends, your friends friends, your mama, your daddy, aunty, and cousins too! This year's event promises to be bigger and better than ever before! Our keynote speaker will be Jillian Harvey, Director of DEI Division at Town of Arlington, MA and president of the Mystic Valley NAACP branch. We will also have live performances by Lydia "LovelySinger" Harrell, Kristal Jean the poet, Malden High School's AO Step, Reba Danastorg on gospel, Zili Misik with some diasporic rhythm and song; and lastly, DJed music by the people's favorite DJ, DJ Tyrone!
We will have activities for all ages, free food catered by Black-owned restaurants in Malden and lots of opportunities for you to connect with and support Black creatives, healers, and entrepreneurs in and outside of Malden. Don't say we didn't tell you. Hope to see you there!
We're still looking for volunteers. If you would like to help out and be in community, click here: https://bit.ly/Juneteenthsignup
