Bird lovers unite! This is an official call to action for the lovers of all things round and feathered.
Class Description
We need more Borbs!
Whether you’ve held a felting needle before or not, all experience levels are welcome to join this quest! In this workshop, you will be guided by an experienced borb artist through creating a soft and squishable needle-felted bird(species of your choice). Materials and tools to make your project will be provided by your instructor.
The materials fee for this class is $8. If you would like to keep your tools after the workshop, there is an additional $4 restocking fee. This is separate from the ticket price and is to reimburse the instructor for any tools or materials used in this class. This will be paid once, directly to the instructor at the start of the first class meeting. This instructor prefers payments through Venmo, Paypal, and Cashapp; cash is accepted.
Learning Objectives
- An understanding of the needle felting process
- Knowledge of needle felting tools
- Skills to control the density and shape of felted projects
- and most importantly add to the borb population!
Instructor - Bleu Vermeer @bleubirdcreations
With a passion for transforming fluff into art, Bleu is a long-time needle felting artist with a wealth of experience. In their classes, they encourage students to hone their tactile senses and structural visualization skills while teaching the science of non-woven fibers. Their infectious enthusiasm and knack for breaking down complex techniques into digestible steps make learning a joyous adventure.
Target Audience
Needle felting beginners and a love of birds is imperative! Folks who are interested in Artisans Asylum's Fiber Arts Shop.
Your Ticket Includes
- Assorted Introductory Needle Set
- Felting Mat
- Core wool and colored wool(colors to be chosen by each student).
- Access to A2's Fiber Arts Shop and tools for the duration of the session.
Class Policies
Attire: Attendants should wear close-toed slip-resistant shoes (steel-toe work boots are ideal), long pants, and no loose-fitting clothing that could possibly get caught in machinery. Make sure to wear only natural fibers (i.e., cotton, wool, linen, etc) and bring reading glasses if needed for detailed work.
