More than 500 cyclists and 120 volunteers will gather on Cape Cod to kick off the 33rd annual Autumn Escape Bike Trek on Friday September 22, 2017 at 9am at the Hilton Garden Inn located at 4 Home Depot Drive, Plymouth. Participants will cycle 160 miles over 3 days to the finish line in Provincetown in hopes of raising more than $400,000 for the American Lung Association.
Who: Riders include lung disease and lung cancer patients, survivors, families and advocates, healthcare professionals, fitness enthusiasts and cyclists of all skill levels.
When & Where:
• Friday, September 22, participants ride from 9am- 3pm
9am Start from the Hilton Garden Inn, 4 Home Depot Drive, Plymouth
Day 1 finish line at Camp Burgess, 75 Stowe Road, Sandwich
• Saturday, September 23, participants ride from 8:30am – 3pm
8:30am Start from Camp Burgess, 75 Stowe Road, Sandwich.
Day 2 finish line is at Cape Cod Sea Camps, 3057 Main Street, Brewster.
• Sunday, September 24, participants ride between 8am- 3pm
8am Start from Cape Cod Sea Camps, 3057 Main Street, Brewster.
Race finish line at the Veteran's Memorial School/Community Center, 2 Mayflower Street, Provincetown.
Why: For over 100 years, the American Lung Association has been at the forefront in the Fight for Air. All proceeds from the Autumn Escape Bike Trek directly fund lung disease research, advocacy, and education; including COPD/asthma management, smoking cessation programs, and advocacy for stronger clean air standards.
Registration/Cost: Registration is currently OPEN. Participants must register in advance at http://action.lung.org/site/TR?fr_id=13912&pg=entry
and pay a registration fee of $55 for a two-day ride or $75 for the full three-day ride which cover all accommodations for the weekend, including cabin lodging and food. Trekkers must also commit to a $500 fundraising minimum.
