Join Science Club for Girls as we celebrate 25 years of empowering diverse girls and women in STEM—in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, and beyond—at our first-ever VIRTUAL Catalyst Awards!
Science Club for Girls – 2020 VIRTUAL Catalyst Awards
Thursday, October 1, 2020
6:00 – 6:40 P.M.
See our in-person and virtual clubs in action, hear from club participants and mentors, and be inspired by this vibrant community of women and girls—who are paving the way for a more diverse, inclusive world of STEM. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
We are thrilled to honor Catalyst Awards recipients Kaelyn Brown and Ashley Cooper—both Harvard College Neuroscience students—and Silver Anniversary Awards recipients, Cambridge STEAM Initiative, Geeta Pradhan of the Cambridge Community Foundation, and the Women’s Foundation of Boston, for their leadership in advancing opportunities for women and girls.
Kaelyn shares, “[Science Club] gave me the opportunity to see that anything is possible, and as a Black woman, and a Black woman in STEM more specifically, that’s really important.” Ashley, who got involved her freshman year, now mentors second graders, many of whom began in Kindergarten. “I was really able to see that it shaped the formative ideas they had—that they do deserve to be in science and can understand the ideas being taught.”
All tickets and sponsorships purchased for the original in-person event are valid for the virtual event. Registration is free; we appreciate your donation!
