The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City’s (ICIC) 2019 National Conference brings together the organization’s dynamic network of small business owners, entrepreneurs, corporate partners and collaborators from across the country.
Over the past 25 years, ICIC has worked with, supported and celebrated small businesses in under-resourced communities that are economic catalysts in their neighborhoods.
For the first time this year, ICIC will combine elements from its Inner City 100 Awards & Conference and Inner City Capital Connections’ National Conference.
With more than 400 business owners in attendance, the event provides an opportunity to network and learn from current program participants, small business alumni and high-growth small business owners.
The conference begins with a welcome reception at Fenway Park’s State Street Pavilion on November 12 and will continue the next day at the Hynes Convention Center for a full day of programming featuring high-profile keynote addresses, relevant educational content and a live Shark Tank simulation.
Some conference highlights include:
Keynote addresses by ICIC founder and chairman Dr. Michael Porter on creating shared value, and former Inner City 100 winner and CEO of Happy Family Brands Shazi Visram
Educational breakout sessions with Harvard Business School professor Lynda Applegate, and author and entrepreneur Dawn Fotopulos
Shark Tank-style pitches with panel of expert judges
