The NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt is a powerful visual reminder of the AIDS pandemic, a time in our recent past that should never be forgotten or taken for granted. Two sections of the quilt will be on display in the lobby of 700 Albany Street on September 7 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for all members of the Boston community to experience. A memorial, a tool for education, and a work of art, the quilt is a unique creation, an extraordinary response to the tragic loss of human life that elegantly frames the concurrent Boston University School of Public Health Dean’s Seminar, “1985: Voices from the AIDS Crisis.” In this conversation, we will hear the stories about the early days of the AIDS crisis from Boston activists and healthcare providers.
