SWING DANCING IS BACK!!! The Compaq Big Band is beyond excited to once again play to a great floor of dancers beginning Saturday November 20th, when we take the stage at Northshore swing dance group’s return to scheduled events at City Hall in Newburyport, Massachusetts – one of our favorite seaside gigging destinations.


The band is on 7:00pm-10:00pm. Casual attire and easy-going atmosphere. All ages and abilities, singles, couples, and groups are enthusiastically welcomed. No experience necessary, and there’s a fun, introductory lesson 6:00pm-7:00pm. Admission is $20.


This will be our first public indoor gig in 630 days!!!


With us that evening will be incredible jazz vocalist Marina Evans, channelin’ Ella Fitzgerald, Diane Schuur, Natalie Cole, and more. Plus, we’ll sprinkle in some swingin’ instrumentals.


Newburyport City Hall is located at 60 Pleasant Street in the heart of downtown. There are too many great restaurant options to count within a 3-block walk of the dance, from right on the ocean, to both sides of State Street, to just across the way - make an early dinner reservation today! Plenty of inexpensive on-street and lot parking (Green Street Lot just around the corner), too.
