The 'Fest celebrates Wellfleet's famous oysters, clams and shellfishing traditions for a weekend full of hometown flavor and big time fun! There is something for everyone: local cuisine, arts and crafts, educational programs, culinary demonstrations, children's activities, eco-tours, live music, a road race, and the annual Oyster Shuck-Off competition.
The 'Fest is made possible through collaboration with the Town of Wellfleet, the support of many generous area businesses and shellfishermen, a wonderful group of volunteers and, most importantly, the weekend's dedicated attendees. Admission is $10 per person per day. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Wellfleet residents are free on Sunday! Advance tickets are being sold through online ticketing service, Eventbrite.
The 'Fest is produced by Wellfleet SPAT, Shellfish Promotion and Tasting, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to sustaining Wellfleet's shellfishing and aquaculture industries. Even the name honors the oyster. The acronym SPAT is also the name for a newly attached baby oyster. Proceeds from the event support the organization’s educational mission which include a college scholarship program, community grant awards and initiatives to support Wellfleet’s shellfishing and aquaculture industries. To date, SPAT has awarded more than $422,000 between the high school scholarship program and its community grants.
