East Cambridge comes alive as the Italian Feast of Saints Cosmas and Damian returns for its 101st year — Friday, September 11 through Sunday, September 13, 2026. First celebrated in 1926, this beloved Italian street festival is one of Greater Boston's longest-running feast traditions, blending faith, family, food, and free entertainment across the streets of East Cambridge and Somerville.
All feast entertainment is FREE throughout the weekend. Come hungry and enjoy amusement rides, carnival games, a beer and wine garden, and dozens of vendors serving classic Italian fare — pizza, fried dough, sausage, peppers and onions, cannoli, pasta, fried calamari, cherrystones, arancini, and much more.
What to Expect Each Day

- Live music and shows on multiple stages
- Nightly processions with the statues of Saints Cosmas and Damian, beginning at the Chapel at 17 Porter Street
Religious Highlights
- Feast Blessing and Healing Service with the relics of Saints Cosmas and Damian
- Sunday Mass at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 325 Cambridge Street
- The Grand Procession on Sunday afternoon, winding through East Cambridge and Somerville with marching bands, floats, and trolleys
Good to know: Admission is free — there are no tickets. Purchases are made directly with vendors, and not all vendors accept cards, so bring cash. Free parking is available during Feast hours at Twin City Plaza and the Target Plaza on Somerville Ave (posted areas only), as well as on-street.
