Beyond the critical acclaim and Tony nominations, the biggest accomplishment of Diane Paulus’s reign as A.R.T. artistic director might be making live theater cool for young people. Mainstage shows in the last couple years have included Bryan Cranston as LBJ in “All the Way” and updated takes on classics like “Pippin” and “Porgy and Bess.” The theater’s second stage, Oberon, showcases emerging local and national artists and hosts regular theater-meets-disco (The Donkey Show) and theater-meets-rock-show (AcousticaElectronica) performances.
