If you are up for a drive to the northern north shore (35 miles northeast of Boston), Newburyport will be hosting fireworks tonight in celebration of their 56th Annual Yankee Homecoming.


Simply the best fireworks display that you will see anywhere! Stop by Cashman park with a blanket or chair and prepare to be amazed.


Yankee Homecoming is a week long celebration of Newburyport's history as a small coastal city.


The city's historical events include:
*First United States Coast Guard station
* First of many subsequent clipper ships built here
* First "Tea Party" rebellion to oppose British Tea Tax
*First state mint and treasury building
*Oldest active and continuously running court house
