WGBH and NECIR journalists have teamed up to investigate stories that matter to our region. Now, you’re invited to join the conversation at our BostonTalks: Investigates series, featuring in-depth panel discussions with major players, followed by a reception.
Investigates: Genetic Testing — How Much Should You Know?
Genetic testing has made it easier to learn all kinds of things about ourselves — but how much do we really know for sure? Can genetic testing yield misleading results causing misguided actions? WGBH General Manager of Radio Phil Redo and NECIR's Executive Director and Co-Founder Joe Bergantino will welcome you to an evening of probing questions. Beth Daley, NECIR senior investigative reporter, will lead a panel discussion about genetic testing with some of the nation's most esteemed experts in the field. Join Dr. Robert Green MD, MPH Physician-scientist in the Division of Genetics and Department of Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School and Genomes2People Research Program Director, Jennifer Schwab, MS, CGC, board-certified genetic counselor and Bruce M. Cohen, MD, PhD, Robertson-Steele Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Program for Neuropsychiatry Research at McLean Hospital for an insightful conversation.
