To celebrate the 45th anniversary of Title IX, WBUR and the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University will host a conversation about the impact of Title IX and the work that remains to end gender inequality in sports.


Here and Now host Robin Young will emcee the event, which will include a panel discussion moderated by WBUR sports and society reporter Shira Springer.


The panel discussion will feature the following special guests:


Maura Healey, attorney general for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and former college and professional basketball player


Swin Cash, director of player development at New York Liberty; WNBA champion (2003, 2006, and 2010); Olympic gold medalist in women’s basketball (2004 and 2012); NCAA Champion (University of Connecticut, 2000 and 2002)


Angela Ruggiero, member of the International Olympic Committee; Olympic gold medalist (1998), silver medalist (2002 and 2010), and bronze medalist (2006) in women’s ice hockey; four-time gold medalist and seven-time silver medalist in Women’s World Ice Hockey Championships; national champion in American Women’s College Hockey Alliance (Harvard, 1999); cofounder and managing director of the Sports Innovation Lab


The event is free and open to the public, but advanced registration is required.
