Join Trident in welcoming Marcia DeSanctis, Meera Subramanian, Katherine Jamieson, and Abbie Kozolchyk for an evening of discussion and readings of their popular works featured in The Best Women’s Travel Writing. Each author will host a 7-8 minute reading followed by a lively discussion and Q&A. The Best Women’s Travel Writing volumes 9 and 10 will be available for purchase at the event.
ABOUT OUR PANEL:
Marcia DeSanctis is the New York Times bestselling author of 100 Places in France Every Woman Should Go (Travelers’ Tales, 2014). She is a former television news producer who has worked for Barbara Walters, ABC, CBS, and NBC News. Her work has appeared in numerous publications including Vogue, Marie Claire, Town & Country, O the Oprah Magazine, National Geographic Traveler, More, Tin House, and The New York Times. Her travel essays have been widely anthologized, including four consecutive years in Best Woman’s Travel Writing, and she is the recipient of three Lowell Thomas Awards for excellence in travel journalism, as well as a Solas Award for best travel writing.
Freelance journalist Meera Subramanian writes for national and international publications including Nature, The New York Times, Virginia Quarterly Review, Smithsonian, Orion and many others. She loves her quiet home in Cape Cod as much as the reporting that takes her far from it. She is currently working on a book about environmental issues in India. You can find her at www.meerasub.org.
Katherine Jamieson is a graduate of the Iowa Nonfiction Writing Program where she was an Iowa Arts Fellow. Her work has been published in The New York Times, Newsday, Ms., Narrative, Meridian, Brevity, and The Common. Her travel writing has been anthologized by Lonely Planet, The Best Travel Writing 2012 and 2015 and The Best Women’s Travel Writing 2012, 2014 and 2015. By day, Abbie Kozolchyk is the Beauty and Travel Director at Every Day With Rachael Ray magazine. By night, if she can stay awake, she likes to write for Conde Nast Traveler, the San Francisco Chronicle and World Hum, among others. And though she lays no particular claim to sanity, she’s been known to travel to Asia or South America for a long weekend.
