Tasting fee is $35/person - what’s included?: Flight of 4 wines to sample - the selection changes every day to showcase what we’re most excited about! Local selection of meat and cheeses provided by our friends, The Salem Cheese Shop. A guided class, recommendations and time to shop
4/6 - 4/10 - France 101 - Of course, the French would claim that they’ve mastered the art of winemaking. Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy - regions so famous, even a layman would know them by name. But, there’s more to be found. From the Mediterranean coast, to cold and sunny Alsace, there’s something for everyone in France. Oui oui! Perfect for the francophiles out there.
4/13-4/17 - Malbec - Malbec, Côt, Auxerrois - no matter what you’re calling it, we love it! Malbec clearly communicates the characteristics of where it’s grown. Primarily found in France and Argentina, the grape produces distinctly different wines in both regions. This lineup will show the different faces of the grape and you can determine your favorite.
4/20-4/24 - Island Wines - Jonesing to be on island time? Let’s escape to two of the world’s most famous island terroirs - Sicily, Italy and the Canary Islands of Spain. This week features two winemakers (Girolamo Russo & Dolores Cabrera) from these volcanic islands - wines made on volcanic soils taste kinda… smoky. Who knew? *Staff favorite tasting alert!!
4/27-5/1 - 2020 Rose - Pink wine season is upon us! We all want to put 2020 in the past - but that’s no reason not to drink new releases from the vintage. A shade and style for everyone - pink is our favorite color to sip on in upcoming months. We'lll dispel the myth that pink = sweet - all wines this week will be dry! Come decide what shade of pink you’ll want to drink in the sun of Summer 2021.
5/4 - 5/9 (including SUNDAY Mother’s Day) - Chardonnay - Chardonnay has been called the Marilyn Monroe of grapes--voluptuous, desirable, and golden. No disrespect to the OG Blonde Bombshell, but Chardonnay has a versatility and power reminiscent of Meryl Streep. We’ll taste a range of oak and unoaked Chardonnays, from Burgundy to the Finger Lakes, Oregon, and California.
5/11 - 5/15 - Chillable Reds - Spring! Memorial Day! Graduation! It’s time to fire up the grill, stash the heavy sweaters, and break out your jorts. Bar-b-cue season doesn’t have to limit your drink selection to pink wine and brewskies. There’s some new hues popping up in the shop. Darker than rosé but lighter than red, these chillable magenta, fuschia, and electric violet wines are perfect for washing down those burgers and wursts.
5/18 - 5/22 - Greece - Mamma Mia! Here we go again, back to the Mediterranean. But we’re bypassing Italy to taste the wines of their next door neighbor, Greece. Greece is one of the oldest wine cultures in the world, but they’re underdogs, still overlooked by the Big Boot next door. Greek wine isn’t limited to minerally whites. Come introduce yourself to their unique native grapes.
5/25 - 5/28 - Sherry 101 - Jerez makes some of the world’s most mysterious and misunderstood wines. You probably know them as Sherry, but we’re talking about more than the bottle of sweet stuff your crazy aunt keeps in the cabinet. Let us treat you to briny Fino; nutty Amontillado, and opulent Oloroso. Sarah and Daniel are thrilled to share their love for one of their favorite wines. **STAFF FAVORITE TASTING ALERT!**
