Strip66 & Boketto in Concert

Strip66 are an acid-jazz and funk-rock-fusion band from upstate New York. Formed in Oneonta, New York in 2015, a group of musicians who once supported one another in all of their individual projects decided to come together and see what they could create as a group. After a few jam sessions and casual practices, it didn’t take long for them to vibe as a unit and discover their natural sound.

Band members include Mo LaMastro and Brian Gipson on guitar, Ben Rudolph on drums, Mikey Rotunno on bass, and Gabrielle Feliciano on alto saxophone and lead vocals. Some of their influences include Snarky Puppy, the Aristocrats, and Hiatus Kaiyote. Combining complex musical sequences with attractive pop melodies and hip-hop grooves, they exhibit a unique twist on expectation and are always looking to experiment more. The band frequently plays in the Catskill region and will be releasing their first full-length album this summer 2016!

Boketto is an evolving prog-hop band from Oneonta, NY. Bits of jazz, funk, jam, hip-hop, and progressive rock fuse to form this unique group. Members contribute in a fluid manner to the music, and originally came together through an elective music course at SUNY Oneonta. The Japanese word "boketto" means "to stare aimlessly at a scene without labeling it" - and that is exactly the type of atmosphere the band aims to create. Through clusters of sounds and thought-provoking messages, Boketto transcends labels and gets people moving.
