South Street Gallery current exhibit features all new paintings of Abington artist Dianne Panarelli Miller. The title of this exhibit “All New” says it all; there are landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, still-lifes and portraits on display, which were painted within the last one year locally and from her many travels. The exhibit will be on display March 9 – April 12, 2018. Public will have a chance to meet Dianne either at the opening reception on Friday evening, March 9th, from 6 to 8pm, or at her painting demonstration on Saturday, March 24, 1 to 3 pm. Dianne will talk about doing field studies on location and turning them into studio pieces.
About the Artist
Dianne Panarelli Miller is a world renowned artist who has painted in Bermuda, France, Spain and Italy. She is an award winning Boston-based plein-air painter of color and light and is a signature member of the New England Plein Air Painters and is a "Copley Master". Her approach combines the classic atelier training of the "Boston School", with a mastery of technique of her own personal style expressed through the harmony of color and design. The original Boston School way of painting seeks to combine the truth of impressionist color with good drawing, sound composition and skillful paint handling. Its leading exponents included Edmund Tarbell, Frank Benson, William Paxton, Joseph Decamp, Philip Hale, R. H. Ives Gammell. Gammell was a turn of the century Boston Museum School pupil of the first three men and later consulted with Paxton. Robert Douglas Hunter and Robert Cormier (with whom Miller studied) were students of Gammell. David Lowery and Robert Moore, also students of Gammell, rounded off her studies.
Dianne has received many awards locally and is represented in many fine galleries as well as in hundreds of private collections.
She is well known on the South Shore of Boston. She is comfortable doing portraits and landscapes and cityscapes as well as murals. Painting full time, she accepts the challenges each subject brings with excitement and vitality.
