The Chelmsford Community Band continues its rich tradition of providing free summer performances on Chelmsford Common Tuesday nights. Spread your blanket on the grass or bring your lawn chairs to enjoy the music with the whole family; the program will start at 7pm. If it rains, follow the music indoors to the Chelmsford Center for the Arts.
Founded in 1972, the Chelmsford Community Band is made up of adult volunteer musicians who come together throughout the year to honor a long history of bringing live performances to the area, rehearsing and performing less than an hour outside of Boston in historic Chelmsford Center. The Concert Band is directed by Lucinda Ellert and the Jazz Ensemble is directed by Art Bakopolus. The band will be on Chelmsford Common every Tuesday night this summer. The Jazz Ensemble will perform July 9, 16, and August 6, and the Concert Band will perform July 23, 30, and August 13. All concerts start at 7pm and will take place inside the Chelmsford Center for the Arts in the event of rain.
