The New England Aquarium is reopening July 16, and we are so excited to welcome you back. On behalf of the entire Aquarium, thank you for your continued support!

As we reopen, the safety and well-being of our guests, team members, and animals are our top priorities. Please review this page for important information before you visit.

OUR COMMITMENT TO SAFETY
The New England Aquarium has carefully monitored and complied with guidance from the CDC and worked closely with officials from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the City of Boston to implement the following safety measures to protect public health.

* Implemented a one-way travel path
* Required mask wearing
* Suspended interactive exhibits
* Installed additional hand sanitizer stations
* Reduced attendance to maintain social distancing standards
* Installed touch-free entry
* Increased frequency of cleaning and are regularly disinfecting high-touch areas
* Posted signage throughout the building about how to safely navigate the Aquarium

PURCHASE TICKETS
To comply with reduced capacity requirements, the Aquarium has implemented a timed-ticketing system. Every visitor, including members, must select a time slot when purchasing tickets. Children under three will continue to receive free entry, but they must have a ticket and reserved time slot along with their caregiver.

Monday – Friday
9:00 am – 6:00 pm

Saturday – Sunday
9:00 am – 6:00 pm

Fall / Winter Hours
Sep 1 – Jun 30:

Monday – Friday
9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Saturday – Sunday
9:00 am – 6:00 pm

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE AQUARIUM
FACIAL COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED
Face coverings are required as per the mandate from the City of Boston and Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

SOCIAL DISTANCING IS IN EFFECT
Please maintain a six-foot distance between you and other guests and Aquarium employees. Employees stationed throughout the exhibits will remind guests of social distancing, and signage will help you maintain a safe distance.

ONE-WAY TRAFFIC FLOW
We have implemented a one-way visit experience in order to maintain social distancing.

CHANGES TO EXHIBITS, PROGRAMS, AND EXPERIENCES
Most of our exhibits are open as usual! However, in order to maintain social distancing and reduce touching of surfaces, we have implemented the following changes:

* The Science of Sharks exhibit is closed
* The Trust Family Shark and Ray Touch Tank is currently open, but is view-only (no touching)
* The Edge of the Sea touch tank is closed
* Live presentations are currently suspended
* When we first reopen, the café will be closed, so please plan accordingly
