ABOUT NATALIE DIETZ
Jazz vocalist and award-winning young composer Natalie Dietz has made a striking impression on both the US and international jazz scene in a short time, impressing both audiences and critics alike with her trademark warm, ethereal voice and composing abilities. She studied at the distinguished jazz vocal program at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2009 where she honed her skills in voice and composition.
Since graduating with a Bachelor of Music Natalie has toured Australia and New Zealand performing at renowned jazz venues to critical acclaim. On relocating to the United States to complete a Master of Music at New England Conservatory in 2014, her original music has attracted international attention. In February 2016 she was a national USA winner of ASCAP’s 2016 Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award.

Exploring the breadth of modern styles, she is quickly distinguishing herself as an innovative and multi-skilled artist. Her debut EP was recorded with esteemed New York musicians Aaron Parks, Mike Moreno, Joshua Crumbly and Justin Brown to critical acclaim. Other achievements include being the only Australian semi-finalist for the Riga Jazz Stage 2014 international jazz vocal competition and being offered a scholarship to leading music school New England Conservatory in Boston, MA. Natalie was the only musician finalist in Australia’s 2015 New South Wales Creative Achievement Awards as an emerging creative talent. Fresh from winning 2016’s ASCAP’s national jazz composition award, Natalie will be performing intimate set of new music.

“In the clotted deluge of jazz vocals, Dietz’s offering floats to the top by virtue of its light touch and grace” – All About Jazz (USA) – 4/5 STARS

“Dietz’s music is delicately fragrant and atmospheric, a new brand of jazz perfume, wafting and seeping into one’s consciousness… a new form of jazz poetry. Her own. And her voice is hypnotic” – Australian Stage, 4/5 STARS
