On July 7 & 8, a bevy of talented musicians will perform at the 2018 Levitate Music and Arts Festival in Massachusetts. The event moved to a two-day schedule last year to accommodate interested artists and has packed its lineup with talent.
Headliner Trey Anastasio, grammy-nominated lead singer of Phish, will perform with his Trio. Seattle’s successful musical composers The Head and The Heart will bring their signature folk-pop blend to the stage. The performance list includes grammy-winner and collaborator Stephen Marley, grammy-nominee and purveyors of positivity Rebelution, eclectic party band Slightly Stoopid and Lake Street Dive who recently debuted new music at #8 on the Billboard 200 chart. Improvisational and vibrant Stick Figure, who has played every festival, will be performing the compositions of self-taught musician Scott Woodruff.
Other bands in the lineup are no less talented. There is rock-n-roll bluegrass mashup Greensky Bluegrass playing, as well as multi-genre improvisational band Twiddle, seven-piece dance band Ripe, Australia’s socially conscious platinum artist Xavier Rudd, the Gulf Coast's soul groove band The Suffers, Brooklyn’s favorite “Powerfunk’ band Turkuaz, the Southwest’s go-to jam band Spafford and Samantha Fish whom The New York Times called, "an impressive blues guitarist who sings with sweet power”. Robert Randolph and The Family Band will bring their gospel-infused songs to the stage and reggae artists New Kingston and Jon and Roy will attend. In addition, the festival stays focused on local representation and there is a large contingent of Massachusetts-based talent - The Elovaters, The Quins, Quadrafunk and Hartford’s West End Blend.
