Please join us in the garden on Thursday, September 12th, from 4:00pm-6:00pm for the FREE opening of Into the Ground, Into the Body, a multisensory public art installation created by sound-based artist Nelly Kate. Using visualizations, vibration, and transference, visitors are invited to activate sonic frequencies that resonate through the back of a bench and generate waveforms in a water fountain. There will be light refreshments, a short program introducing the work, and opportunities to connect with the community.
The opening on September 12th will be accompanied by an access team who will provide live ASL interpretation, live Spanish translation, and highlight the installation’s Audio Description features. Into the Ground, Into the Body will live in the garden from September 12 through October 31, 2024.
This work was made possible by the support of the Boston Public Art Triennial and Egleston Square Branch of the Boston Public Library.
