Come join us at the farm as we explore food chains and farm ecology!

In this 3-week session we will learn what an ecosystem is and why the food chain plays such an important role in maintaining it.

Each week we will participate in hands-on STEAM learning activities while maintaining social distance. We will observe and explore the ecosystems here at Powisset, visit with our resident farm animals, spend time in our state-of-the-art teaching kitchen to bake individual snacks to bring home and create our own composting jars to observe throughout the winter months.

*Please note, due to staff: child ratio restrictions, we cannot book children under the age of 7 for this program.*

This drop-off class is designed for children ages 7-12. Class is limited to 10 students to allow for social distancing. Emergency contact forms will be sent to parents and caregivers prior to the start of class.

Questions? Want to become a Trustees member and enjoy free and/or discounted programs? Contact [email protected].

PLEASE NOTE: Powisset is NOT a nut-free or gluten-free kitchen. We cannot accommodate any allergy requests for cooking segments.

Covid-19 Guidelines: Each student will have their own station to work on and their own set of ingredients and kitchen tools when working in the kitchen. Siblings will be allowed to share a station, tools and ingredients. Stations will be spread out 3-6 feet apart and masks and gloves will be required during the class. Children will have their own set of tools and supplies when creating crafts or projects. Mask breaks will also be encouraged.

Cancellation Policy: In the event that a program is canceled due to severe weather, low enrollment, or other circumstances, we will notify you as soon as possible by email and issue you a full refund or transfer into another class within 14 days of the cancellation. If you cannot attend a program as planned, contact Powisset Farm 7 days prior to the start of the program to receive a full refund. Refunds will not be granted for registration cancellations placed fewer than 7 days before the start of the program. We offer transfers to other classes or events with 48 hours of the class.
