Elizabeth Oehlkers Wright’s translations of poets Zehra Çirak, Zafer Şenocak and other German poets have appeared in numerous literary publications and anthologies. She has received awards and fellowships from the NEA and the American Literary Translators Association and served as contributing German language editor for the anthology New European Poets (Graywolf). Among her translations are Door Languages by Zafer Senocak published by Zephyr Press in 2008 and The Art of Science - Nine Times Three Chairs in Honor of the Sciences by Zehra Cirak/Jurgen Walter in 2017. She has spent the last several years working with the Independent German SLOWBOAT Films director M. A. Littler on the contemplative documentary Franz Wright: Last Words from her current home in rural Maine.
