Dichroic Glass is what inspired me (Jordan) to begin working with glass. The finished pieces I was creating (as a beginner, none the less) were incredible! Over the past 10 years, I have dedicated countless hours to studying dichroic. Exploring new techniques and developing my skill. The Glass Bar is the only glass school in the Boston area that can guide you through working with dichroic glass with the confidence and knowledge that I have gained over the past 10 years.

The most common questions I receive when working with dichroic glass are 'What is dichroic glass' and 'How do you say it?'

Well, let's start there - it's pronounced "Dye-CROW-ick!," and it is fusible glass that has a thin layer of dichroic film attached to it. The dichroic film is what makes the glass magical. I'll get more into this during class, but for now you should know that each piece of dichroic is one-of-a-kind, which makes it perfect for jewelry making.

This 1-hour long beginners class will begin with basic cutting techniques and transition to a lesson on designing with dichroic.
I will work with you to create a beautiful, one of a kind dichroic glass pendant. I promise you will leave feeling confident with a piece that will have you bragging.

"Jordan taught a fun and engaging dichroic glass jewelry class. She gave superb instructions without being micromanaging. She was very friendly and I feel confident in the skills I learned because of the background provided with them."
- Kari R, dichroic glass class student

Every day, we strive to deliver the best possible glass art experience to our customers. However; during these times your safety and the safety of our instructors is our number one priority. Please forgive us if our new safety precautions may come as an inconvenience.

Here is a list of the new safety measures we have implemented at The Glass Bar that may make your experience seem different than it was in the past.

* NEW* We have created individual workstations, complete with tools, equipment, and materials.
Having students commit to designated work areas ensures 6 ft of social distance between guests and prevent the shared use of any tools, materials or equipment. Each workstation is complete with hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes for your use. Workstations are completely sanitized between each use.

We have also implemented the following safety precautions in ordinance with the CDC guidelines.

- Masks required to be worn by every person while inside The Glass Bar.
- Reduced capacity to 40% max occupancy.
- Communal areas (doorknobs, etc) are sanitized after each guest.
- Employees screened each day for symptoms, suggested for customers as well.
- Windows open with fans blow outside, providing increased air circulation to outdoors.

Thank you for understanding.
