Cask ale is a traditional British style of serving beer; beer is drawn out of the keg by hand and served at a slightly different carbonation level and temperature than normal draft beer to bring out new flavors and aromas. Every Thursday, we tap a fresh pin (keg) of this deliciousness!

This week, we're pouring:

Beer Name: Sunken Wit
Style: Witbier
Cask Addition: MA-grown Centennial
ABV: 4.7%
IBU: 15
Color: White? Sure, we'll call that white.

Cheese Pairing: Tobasi
Food Pairing: Garden salad
Music Pairing (Jimbo's Choice): "On the Dark Streets Below" by Murder by Death
Music Pairing (Jared's Choice): "Grooving to the Moscow Beat" by the Red Elvises
Best Occasion to Drink: During Sunken City's set at our birthday party!

Brewers' Notes: It's our birthday and we'll brew a bunch of concept beers if we want to, dagnabbit! For this here beer, we set about to make something that would pair with the music of Sunken City. Armed with naught but a description of the band's sound (they don't have any recordings at the moment, and were hesitant to drag all their shit over here to play us one song), we did what we do best and made something up. In this case it's a nearly-classic-style witbier with a lil' sprinkle of Centennial that we got from our friends at Four Star Farms and oh man it's so good you guys.

BONE UP BREWING COMPANY //
A Small Brewery Making Beer For Your Mouth in Scenic Everett, Massachusetts.

Bone Up Brewing is the Boston area's smallest brewery! Husband-and-wife brewing duo Jared and Liz Kiraly crank out fresh new beer every week from their 3-barrel nano brewery and taproom. Inspired by old-school Belgian farmhouse brewing while celebrating American styles, their ales combine the heart and soul from each of these beloved beer cultures. Four year round beers are always available, but the gears of Bone Up are always turning, so you can expect an ever-changing array of one offs, seasonal releases, and experimental batches.

Located in the heart of Everett's budding Fermentation District, the taproom is open Wednesday through Sunday and features full pours, flights, and growlers from ten rotating tap lines. In addition to a weekly cask, the taproom hosts games and an ongoing series of food vendors and pop ups. Outside of the occasional tasting, the best place to find Bone Up is right at the source!
