Each and every Friday, we're proud to open the doors of our music school in Central Square for a FREE seminar, demo or meet-up. Hell, we'll even throw a classical music concert or two. What's in store this week? Let's find out:
Mixxx is a popular live music creation tool for DJs, similar to Traktor or Serato Scratch Live, but it's totally free and open source. The Mixxx developers just released a beta version representing two years of work adding advanced features like 4-deck master sync, built-in effects, and musical key matching. Come and watch one of the lead developers reveal what's new and what you may not have known Mixxx could do.
Owen Williams consistently fails at not writing code all the time. During the week he works on software that helps people find plane tickets and on the weekends you'll find him in a coffee shop working on side projects. He has been a developer with Mixxx since 2009 and is one of the lead developers on the project. Occasionally he DJs house parties while sweating a river, worried that Mixxx might crash at any moment even though that only happened once. He would like to learn how to repair pinball machines next.
