The 4th Annual Winter Walk will take place on Sunday, February 9, 2020, at Boston’s Copley Plaza. Beginning with a 2-mile walk through the streets of Boston, followed by a community breakfast, the family and dog-friendly event brings together participants that are housed and those experiencing homelessness to share their stories and walk to raise awareness of the issue in the Boston area.


The 2020 Winter Walk is presented with Boston Medical Center (BMC) and Boston Medical Center HealthNet Plan (BMCHP), both organizations that have supported the Winter Walk since it began in 2017. Event co-chairs for this year’s walk are Katie and David Beeston and Jessie and Enrique Colbert.


All proceeds raised go towards Winter Walk partner organizations that provide direct service and programming to Boston’s homeless community. These include Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program, Boston Medical Center, Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Brookview House, Pine Street Inn, and Y2Y Harvard Square. Many other incredible service organizations will also walk together in solidarity to support awareness around the issues of homelessness.


Participants are encouraged to donate or fundraise a registration fee of $100 for adults, and $50 for youth and students. The fee includes registration, a Winter Walk hat, breakfast, a backpack with information and offers from local organizations. Local businesses, clubs, religious groups, families, friends and surrounding communities are encouraged to create teams for the walk.


Founded by Paul English, local entrepreneur and philanthropist, the Winter Walk raises awareness and funds with the goal to end to homelessness in Greater Boston.
