Zines are self-published books with a rich history in DIY, underground, and protest culture. This zine-making workshop, hosted by local illustrator and cartoonist Lily Xie, will introduce a collection of local zines and work with participants to craft their own collaborative and individual zines to take home.


Lily Xie is an illustrator and cartoonist based in Somerville. Lily has led zine workshops throughout the region, including at Tufts University, Pao Arts Center, and the Dorchester Art Project. In addition to workshops, Lily also organizes Moon Eaters, a collective of queer femme Asian-American artists.
