Are you considering an opportunity where you can work remotely part or full time? Do you wonder what other people have found to be the pros and cons of this "perk", or if it could work for you? Do you already work remotely and need tips and tricks on how to make it better for you? Women Who Code Boston presents a panel with tech professionals who have worked remotely to discuss these topics.

Each participant will give us their background and share their knowledge and experience within tech and how they make working remote work for them!

6:00 - 6:20 pm: Registration + Mingle
6:20 - 8:00 pm: Panel
8:00 - 8:30 pm: Networking

Food and drinks will be provided by our host, Privy!

*Panelists*

Rachel Minto is a software engineer at the video hosting platform Wistia and a game developer in her spare time. Though Wistia is located in Cambridge, MA, Rachel's work is location-independent, so she spends about half her time working from abroad as a digital nomad.

Ashlen Price is a software engineer at Zipcar, a ride-sharing company that enables its members to access vehicles near them at any time. She’s currently working on improving the registration experience for new potential members. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her boys outdoors, learning new things like drawing and playing the guitar. Though Zipcar's home office is located in Boston, MA, she works remotely part-time and about half of her team works remotely across various timezones.

Madeline Goh is inspired by applying her skills as a mathematician to solve real world problems that impact people’s lives. She moved to the Bay Area to work on perception algorithms for autonomous vehicles after earning her PhD in 2015. Currently, she works on a simulation platform for testing such algorithms at San Jose startup RightHook, Inc. In previous roles, Madeline worked as both an occasionally remote employee and a supervisor of remote employees. In August, she moved 3,100 miles from Palo Alto, CA to Boston and transitioned into working remotely from her home office.

Bryana Knight is a Senior Software Engineer at GitHub, working primarily on the backend of their Identity and Access Management System. She currently works on a fully remote team with engineers spanning across 2 continents and 3 timezones. Prior to GitHub, she worked for a small start-up that was acquired by Aetna, and paired full time with teammates located in different areas of the US.
